Skywatch Friday - not so short sharp shock
These photos were taken on the last day of freedom before my return to work. I'm glad I had my thermals on. The rest of the UK (and Europe as Tim is currently stuck waiting for the Train home from Paris) seems to be snowed in, it has been really cold here but we've (much to the children's misery) only had a dusting of snow - no more than a couple of centimetres. I've been trying to ENJOY the icy drive to work and the sight of children sledging on the way (see last post) - I'm hoping we can use our new Christmas sledge at the weekend.

Lovely shots, but it does look cold! I love the reflections in the water! Have a great weekend and stay warm!!

Love your first picture. Nice composition.
ReplyDeleteI like the second photo of the fallen tree in the creek...the making of a good fishing hole.
ReplyDeleteLovely winter shots, especially like the composition of the second one. We probably have less snow than you, but ALL our schools are shut and we have no post or refuse collection. We didn't have much snow but then the ice came and the roads are treacherous. Hope Tim gets home safely and soon, and have a good weekend,
ReplyDeleteJanice.
Beautiful winter shots. They are both so evocative of the season.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing snow scenes. They are so pretty and peaceful. And, they make me glad we don't have snow in FLA. Enjoy sledging!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a winter wonderful. Love the way the fence sharpens the first shot.
ReplyDeleteOoo, BRRR! Just looking at your photos makes me cold. In the second photo, it looks like a large section of a tree has fallen over into the stream. The dog does not look thrilled with the cold, poor thing. Hope you had a good enough week back at work. "Good enough" is one of my newer favorite phrases.
ReplyDeleteGreat moody photographs. Smart to wear your thermals.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots! I love the reflections in the second one.
ReplyDeleteThese are two very beautiful photographs. Even though it was cold the light has softened the cold. Your last post is wonderful, you have me thinking of my word. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful warm weekend.
ReplyDeleteSmiles and blessings
Ah, more "cold" skies!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit to my sky post this week! Good to read all your posts here...love the quote at the bottom about your troubles lasting as long as your New Year Resolutions! Very good!
Nice photos! Looks cold, but also looks quite peaceful and quiet. Very good!
